The Industry & Me...with Kezia Gill
Welcome to our new The Industry & Me Online event, a new offering for Artist and Industry Pro Members. In these sessions we will go behind the scenes of the music industry, gain insights from our guests and lift the lid on what it really takes to be in this world.
Our first session is with Kezia Gill.
Few UK country artists embody the talent, determination and resilience needed to succeed in today's music business as Kezia Gill. Kezia's success, including her signing to Snakefarm / Universal Records in 2025, is the dream of most, if not all, UK country artists. So just what does it take to achieve this kind of recognition in today's music business? How long has the road been and how much hard work was really needed?
In this UK-CMA exclusive interview Kezia will be talking to UK-CMA Director (and fellow artist) Geoff Meads about her journey, her experience of the industry so far and the doors she's had to open to achieve her current success as a UK country artist. Expect moments of delight, difficulty and a deep reality check about what it takes to achieve your musical dreams.
If you're an artist, or artist manager or want to understand more about the industry, this is surely a session not to be missed!
Kezia Gill is a country artist who draws influences from Folk, Irish, Rock and Blues, combining raw storytelling with powerhouse vocals and an electrifying stage presence. Emerging from Nottingham’s grassroots music scene, she has rapidly risen to become one of the UK’s most compelling live performers, building a devoted fanbase and dominating the British Country Music Association Awards, where she has now taken home Entertainer of the Year for five consecutive years, alongside multiple other accolades including Best Female.
The past few years have marked a meteoric rise. In 2023, she performed at major venues including the OVO Hydro, The Indigo at The O2 and BST Hyde Park supporting Bruce Springsteen. Her critically acclaimed album Misfit signalled a bold artistic evolution and was followed by a sold-out headline tour that cemented her reputation for delivering unforgettable live shows.
Momentum has only accelerated. Kezia became one of only two British acts invited to CMA Fest in Nashville, performed on the main stage at Country 2 Country (C2C), and played Australia’s biggest country festival, CMC Rocks, before returning for a hugely successful Australian tour. She has also toured across the UK and Europe with Nashville songwriting legend Rodney Crowell, further cementing her growing international reputation.
Her recent singles have achieved significant national impact, receiving widespread airplay across multiple national stations. Her latest release, “Gut Feeling”, was playlisted on BBC Radio 2, featured on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, and she also performed on Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine, bringing her music to mainstream television audiences across the UK. She also made her main stage debut at State Fayre Festival, opening for Stephen Wilson Jr. and Kings of Leon in front of 30,000 people in a landmark moment for her career.
Now signed globally to Universal’s Snakefarm Records, one of the world’s leading country and roots labels, Kezia has entered the biggest chapter of her career. Her acclaimed album All On Red is out now and was followed by a successful national headline tour, further cementing her reputation as one of the UK's standout live artists.
The momentum continued with a huge summer festival season, including a main stage appearance at The Long Road Festival alongside a string of European festival and headline dates, as Kezia continues to grow her audience both at home and internationally.
From Nottingham pubs to international festival main stages, Kezia Gill’s journey is one of grit, authenticity and relentless drive - a true entertainer at the very top of UK country music, with her story continuing to gather pace.
