Our Principles & Set-up

We are a Community Interest Company

The UK-Country Music Association (UK-CMA) is a membership based, not-for-profit organisation committed to the promotion and recognition of UK country music domestically and internationally.  When the founders were considering the right legal structure for the organisation it was led by its two key, underlying principles – Openness and Transparency.  This led to the decision to be registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

Why a 'CIC'?

This structure of a CIC provides a strong legal foundation for a community-based group (our members). It means the organisation is regulated in what it can and cannot do, and ensures that, if the company ever ceases to exist, then any funds held are automatically passed to another charitable organisation.  In this matter, the founding board members opted for any funds to go to The Musicians Benevolent Fund.

Registration & Accounts

The UK Country Music Association is registered at Companies House (company number 16054122) and accounts will be filed starting on 31st March 2026 after our first year of operation and every year thereafter.

The current board of the UK-CMA are its founding members, but, in future, board members will be elected by the membership. New board members will be added or changed on a varying timescale to ensure consistency of mission and knowledge of the organisation.
